Our Response to COVID-19

At Wiarton Retirement Residence we continue to play an important role in keeping our seniors and our community safe. Wiarton Retirement Residence has taken heightened precautionary protocols for the pandemic of COVID-19 in our home and has made sure to abide by all the rules and regulations implemented by the Ontario provincial and the federal government, our sector regulators, and our local Grey Bruce Public Health.

Our pandemic protocols include the following:

1- Physical distancing between members is being practiced at all times. We always have tables of two’s at Wiarton Retirement Residence to ensure physical distance.

2- Universal masking is mandatory when members are in a common room.

3- Members are screened prior to their shifts and testing is done on a regular basis to ensure the safety of our seniors and members.

4- Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is always available and required for staff.

5- Deep cleaning/disinfecting is done on a regular basis with schedules.
