Personalized Living Accommodations

Wiarton Retirement Residence proudly offers private and personalized living accommodations together with comfortable, warm and inviting shared spaces. Here residents can gather to play a game of cards, watch TV, share meals with fellow residents or simply enjoy coffee and a chat. Our manicured gardens are the perfect backdrop for bird watching, enjoying a peaceful walk around the grounds, planting and tending to flowers and viewing the boaters on Colpoys Bay. You might work together with other residents to build and fill bird feeders or even find yourself setting up an easel on a warm summer day, painting all that the eye can see! See our Facebook page for art pieces created by some of the residents and our most recent events and activities!

We offer a number of bedrooms designed for singles and several that would be suitable for couples. Unlike our institutional counterparts, we don’t think you should spend your senior years separated from your significant other while you wait for a double room. Our spacious suites include four bedrooms on the main floor and ten rooms upstairs, well suited to our more active residents. Several offer stunning views of the bay and some offer private, powder room ensuites.*  All suites have been newly renovated and meet all existing fire code regulations with a state of the art sprinkler system throughout the home. Walk-in tubs, 24 hr PSW care on site and located within a few minutes of the Wiarton Hospital, we provide all the amenities of home with the additional security that comes from knowing you (or your loved one) will be well cared for. Simply put, we make life easier.

*Prices will vary according to style and size of suites.

We invite you to come and spend the day in the Bruce Peninsula. Take a tour of our facilities and enjoy the restaurants, Blue Water Park, the Niagara Escarpment and consider a stop in one of two nearby National Parks. Bring the family; kayak, canoe or sail the Bay, hike one of the beautiful trails, even do some shopping at one of the many unique and trendy stores that serve this vibrant and bustling retirement community.

Wiarton is quickly becoming known as a rural retirement community gateway for seniors from around the area including: Markdale, Hanover, Meaford, Sauble Beach, Owen Sound and Tobermory. Increasingly, we’re finding even those that had moved away from the area are considering a return to their roots, or to where the family cottage used to be, returning to Bruce Peninsula from cities like: Toronto, Kitchener/Waterloo, Guelph and London. If you are looking for joy in your retirement and relish in an active lifestyle, both the Town of Wiarton and the Wiarton Retirement Residence are for you!
